Study Date

Finals start tomorrow! So its time to study, study, study! We ate a great breakfast that got us ready for the long day that is ahead. We all studied in our own rooms for a little while. But then we were in need of a little break to have girl time to talk about the random things that we come up with. Then it was back to studying. But instead of going back to our room where all the distractions were taking place my friend and I decided to come downstairs for a study date in a new location.

We come down by the Christmas tree to study. We each got a couch and brought down our blankets and pillows. We lit the Christmas tree and then some candles to help warm the room for some more studying and because we like candles because they smell good. Now we are both studying for finals week and hope that we will get A's on all our finals :)

A Wild Breakfast

We woke up this morning to crazy yelling boys. They were acting like they were a marching band to wake us all up. We were all this sleeping and not really wanting to wake up. But with all the noise they were making there was no way to not wake up. After about 20 minutes they convinced us to go to breakfast with them at the restaurant on the corner of town.

We got to the corner restaurant and there were 7 of us. We found a table and sat down to order. Now you can only imagine how the breakfast went. They woke us up all hyper which carried over to being hyper at breakfast. Once we got our drinks the spit balls started to fly. This lasted until we got our food which took about 20 minutes or so. So there was lots of spit balls during this time. Once the food came they were too busy eating to do anymore spit balls thank goodness. But all in all it was a fun time before the long day of studying would have to begin.

Last Day of the Semester

Schools almost out!!!!!!!!!! Today is our last day of the fall semester. Only three exams stand in front of Christmas Vacation! This weekend will be filled with lots of studying and polar pops to keep us awake! We had our fun last night and now it is time to study study study and study for finals! We all hope to get good grades on our finals for then we get good grades on our transcripts.

Monday we have late night breakfast. This is the most fun ever. Everyone love breakfast and everyone really love late night breakfast. It helps to give you a little kick at night to be able to stay up and study some more. And many of the faculty come to serve the meal to the students its just a nice way for students and faculty to interact out side of the classroom.

Seminars Are Finished

After many long hours and typing til our fingers were going to fall off many of the seniors have finished their senior seminars. Days filled with searching for sources and reading endless sources have come to an end today! And I must say that we are all happy to have them be finished.

All the seniors have worked so hard this seminar to finish our seminars in order to have a fun last semester of college. Since the seminars were finished we felt as if we should celebrate the great achievement of finishing 20 to 30 page pages over various topics.  We decided to go out to the bar and have a few beers to enjoy the fact that we had finally finished and would not have to research our topic anymore. The night was filled with dancing and drinking and it was a great time for all. It was a great way to end the our last fall semester!

After the Last Meeting

While we were in our last meeting the snow began to fall. At first we thought it would not amount to anything. But then it just kept on coming and coming down. The cars and the ground were covered all white. This was the first real snow fall of the year and it was beautiful. After the meeting many people decided it was time to break out the dusty sleds and go sledding.

Around 11pm we went for a walk all over campus to see the snow and see if anyone had made any designs in the snow. There were no snowmen made but someone had gone on the football field and stamped out words with there feet. There were lots of people out sledding and having snowball fights. The snowfall made for a perfect end to a Sunday night :)

The Ending of Fall Semester

The end of the fall semester has come to be. It's hard to believe this semester is almost over it seems like just yesterday we were coming back to school to do our sorority retreat. Which involved planning for the new year and helping out the community during a day of service. Then moving in the freshman on move in Friday and seeing the excitement in their eyes for the new adventures to come. It's crazy that while the freshman are about to complete there first semester as a college student. Some of us are about to finish our last fall semester.

Our last meeting of the year was filled with many different emotions. The seniors were sad that it was their last meeting of the fall semester. Many of the juniors were sad to think that their bigs would only have one semester left with them. And then the Sophomores were excited to finally be on the other side for rush week and no longer be a rushee. Now it's time to finish off the last week of the semester before exams.

Club Holiday Dinner

It has come the time for our annual holiday dinner with all the girls in our club. Everyone came together to create a wonderful dinner. We broke the dinner up asking everyone to bring in different items for the dinner. The house girls made the turkey and ham for the club. Others brought salad, mac-n-cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, veggies, pies, and cookies. We ended up with more than enough food! Everyone was able to fill there tummys with great food and have time to spend with each other before we leave for the Christmas break.

We also had a white elephant gift exchange. Each year this is a fun activity that takes place at the dinner to start the holiday cheer off! We all pick gifts and trade back in forth for that one prize that everyone wants to have. Then once everyone has a gift we open to see what we have been given. Everyone laughs at their gifts and everyone asks who brought what and its just an all around good time!

Black Friday

10pm Toys R Us open its doors to hundreds of parents trying to buy that special gift for their child for Christmas. Craziness! There was snow/rain/cold/wind that fill the night. Unlike years past I was not outside of the Toys R Us waiting with family members to run into the store to find those sale item presents. Instead of staying out all night in front of the Target to try to get a TV I stayed in my warm bed and got lots of sleep.

Around 8am we decided to go out into the craziness of Black Friday and see if there were any deals that we just could not pass up. The mall was PACKED with people! We went into a few stores and got a few things, but then decided the lines had just gotten way too long to want to stay any longer with the craziness. We shopped til it was time to go to lunch and then we headed home to hangout for the rest of the day. So Black Friday this year was just too cold and too crazy to get anything worth waiting in line for. We will just have to pay a little more another day!

Holiday Time :)

Thanksgiving has just come to pass. We all went home for the holiday and spent much needed time with our families and friends, Many of the sorority sisters traveled near and far to make it home for the thanksgiving day celebration. Many of the girls went home on Tuesday for a week long festivities. Wednesday night the night before thanksgiving for many entailed going out to local bars to see friends from the past who you may not have seen in awhile along with a little drinking and dancing.

Thanksgiving morning was a recovery from the night before and many people recovered and watch the Macy's thanksgiving day parade while the thanksgiving dinner slowly cooked all day long. Then once it was time to eat the hangovers were finally gone and it would be time to eat a wonderful thanksgiving meal. After dinner would be a food coma nap and then it was time to start thinking about the next day Black Friday!!

Welcome to the Cupkake Life :)

Our family began many years ago before we were even in college. This cupkake princess family is a sorority family that started as the just the princess family in 2008. We have since grown to become the cupkake princess family. The kake are the initials of the current family members. We believe that your part of this family for life and it will go with you even after your time at college has come to an end.

Many people won't give sororities a chance because they believe that you are just paying for your friends. Yes, you do have to pay dues each semester, but no your not paying for friends. Friends and sister are priceless there is no amount of money that could pay for the bond you make with your sisters throughout your time in your sorority. These friendships will last forever.
